Camping isn't always as fun as you think it’ll be. Sometimes the ground is too hard, there are too many bugs, and if it rains well just forget about it. Sensing a need, UK inventor Alex Shirley-Smith found a creative way to solve these problems and take camping to a whole new level (literally). The result? A portable treehouse that's a cross between a tent and a hammock. Shirley-Smith originally came up with the idea that would become the Tentsile system back in 2010. After an early concept of his portable treehouse went viral, Shirley-Smith and his team got down to some serious work. Tentsile released their first production model The Stingray late last year, and it still has a three week waiting list for new orders.

To set it up you just attach the Tentsile system to any three support points, very similar to hanging a hammock.

Sleeping up off the ground keeps you away from all the creepy crawly tent invaders.

Tentsile’s flagship product, the Stingray tree tent, has room for three people inside with a waterproof covering on the outside to protect against rain and bugs.

You can even attach a rope ladder! No wonder it’s they're calling it a portable treehouse.

That view. Just wow.

Looks like a cozy place to be at night in the wilderness.

According to the Tentsile website, they’re are currently dealing with “unprecedented” demand for their products. Which means that there’s at least a three week wait purchasing your own portable tree house.

If you think that tree houses are just for kids, think again.

The designers and builders at Blue Forest are out to prove that tree houses don't have to be just a childhood fancy. And boy have they succeeded. They build beautiful tree houses. Some are made for individuals, while others are for families, but all are examples of incredible architectural mastery.

This tree house in particular is called the "Living the Highlife Tree House." It's built for a family, and I have to say, I definitely would've loved growing up in a house like this.

The family tree house is actually made up of two separate buildings.
The parents section is connected to their kids' house by a fun hanging bridge. This way, everyone gets outside to enjoy the fresh air and incredible scenery each day.
The children's tree house looks like it's straight out of a fairytale.
It's three conical sections give it an awesome lofted look and feel.
In one of the rooms, there's a trapdoor that leads to a game room!
This is the adult section of the the tree house. The thatched roof gives it a more resort-like vibe.
One of the coolest features of the adult house is that is was built with a tree coming right up through the center of one of the rooms.
The parents have a kitchen, bathroom, dining, and living area for hosting guests.

There are many moments that have changed the way people see the world around them. Photographers do the hard work of attempting to capture them on film as they happen. Whether they know it or not, they are singlehandedly changing how history is remembered.

All of these photos capture something unique. Some are inspiring, some are unsettling, but all are important documents of singular historical moments.

#1 Elliot Erwitt photographed public water fountains in North Carolina, demonstrating the issue of segregation in the American South.

#2 Thích Quang Duc setting himself on fire to protest the Diem government in South Vietnam shocked the world in 1963.

#3 Horace Greasley standing behind a wired fence, stoically facing Nazi commander Heinrich Himmler.
#4 The Tiananmen Square protests took place in China in 1989. The protesters were fighting for democracy, and in the photo below, one man stood and faced the Chinese government's oppressive forces.

#5 When this little girl was told to draw "home" on a chalkboard, this is what she came up with...

#6 In 1993, this photo of a young Sudanese girl being watched by a vulture brought the world's attention to hunger in Africa.

#7 This haunting photo, taken in Chechnya in 1994, is of a Russian soldier playing an abandoned piano.

#8 This is the moment club owner Jack Ruby shot and killed President John F. Kennedy's assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald.

#9 On May 6, 1937, the Hindenburg caught fire in one of the most infamous disasters in history.

#10 Haiti was hit hard by tropical storm Hannah in 2008. This photo captures a young boy salvaging a stroller in the aftermath of the storm.

As people get grow up, they consider the choice between a career and family. It's impossible to commit yourself 100% to both (unless you're just one of those awesome people who can do everything, including going to the gym). A woman in Brazil by the name of Nívea Salgado graduated with a degree in Dentistry and obtained both Master’s and Doctoral degrees in the field. However, she decided to give it all up to focus on her family when her daughter was born.

As she raised her daughter, Nívea realized that there would still be huge challenges to overcome. Little Catarina became a picky eater. She would only eat apples and, after a stressful period, her mom came up with a brilliant plan. By using the manual skills she developed as a dentist, Nívea began creating fantastical plates of food for Catarina. She couldn't resist eating them! (And you'll see why.)

Derby is a dog who was born with malformed front legs. Unsatisfied with the currently-available wheeled options to assist disabled dogs, Derby’s owner sought additional help. The result was a set of custom designed, 3D printed prosthetic legs that allow Derby to run and play, just like any normal dog.

It’s probably true that quick wit, ability to take risks and presence of mind can save your life. This video proves just that. It depicts a witty, fast thinking pickup truck driver, who drives his truck under an airplane, saving the lives of passengers on an airliner with a disabled front. It’s breathtaking how the truck so easily positions itself under the front head of the aircraft to act as the airplane’s front wheels. The video also includes testimonials of witnesses at the airport, including awestruck passengers, baggage handlers and the heroic truck driver himself. The truck driver, Jason Locey recounts how he raced, after he heard about the plane on the radio. If this attempt was a failure, it could have probably resulted in a fatal accident and it is commendable how Jason had no second thoughts about taking one of the biggest risks of his life.
